RADIAL PRESSURE PULSE THERAPY (EPAT)

Radial Pressure Pulse Therapy is also known as Extracorporeal Pulse Activation Therapy (AKA EPAT).  

The Zimmer EnPuls Pro uses an electromagnetic generator that creates a mechanical pressure wave which transfers pulse energy to the transmitter in the hand piece. It produces kinetic energy that is converted into pulse energy when the magnet strikes the surface of the transmitter. The acoustic pulse energy is transformed into impact energy from the contact area into the therapeutic target tissue radially. The low energy acoustic waves trigger the body’s healing response, reduces pain and helps increase circulation. The therapy creates a sudden jump change in pressure which helps to break up scar tissue and adhesions. The pressure pulse therapy creates a micro-trauma to the tissue that creates acute inflammation which triggers your body to react and heal the tissue.  

Treatments Needed: Only 6 Treatments for Most Conditions  

Treatment Frequency: 1-2 Treatments per Week

Not that many. Most conditions improve or resolve in 6 treatments usually done on a weekly basis. 

You will experience a sensation of mild discomfort while the pulses help to break down scar tissue. The process is very tolerable and patients adjust to it as time progresses. Local redness will be produced and in some rare cases bruising. These will go away. There may be some increased soreness in the next 24 hours after the treatment but this is a healing reaction and should subside by the following day. The entire healing process can take up to 10 to 12 weeks but the result is rejuvenated tissues that are not easily injured as before.
